Main Street Grambling is moving from ideas to action with a goal of beautification of the city, clearer plans, economic vitality and community voices at the center.
What to expect from the Monthly Main Street Minute.
• Clean & Green Main: Upcoming dates for monthly litter pick-up, planter refresh, and Village upgrades . Small fixes make a big first impression.
• Updates on the Grambling State University–City of Grambling partnership and invite public input.
What’s next
• MSG Planning Meetings & Community Engagement: Main Street Grambling board meetings will be held monthly on the 2nd and/or 4th Thursday.
• Begin Brownfield Inventory: Brownfields are environmentally challenged properties that can be safely redeveloped for community benefit. We’ll start with “windshield surveys” to visually flag potential sites. Next, we’ll gather site-specific information—historic uses, old permits, photos, and any environmental reports—to prioritize sites for cleanup and reuse.
How you can help
• Calendar submissions: Help us publish a monthly community calendar. Email event details (who/what/when/where/cost/contact) or drop off flyers/programs in the MainStreet Mailbox at City Hall. Please submit by the 20th for next month’s listings.
• Brownfield tips: If you know of a property with a past industrial use, long vacancy, or visible concerns, send the address, photos (if safe), and any historical notes.
A strong Main Street keeps dollars local, honors our heritage, and opens doors for new businesses and jobs. Let’s build it together.
