Gabby Douglas, the trailblazing Olympic gymnast, has been honored with induction into the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Hall of Fame, as announced by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) on Tuesday, May 6. A three-time Olympic gold medalist, Douglas is among the prominent names in the 2025 induction class, joining sports legends such as Serena Williams, Allyson Felix, Kerri Walsh Jennings, and renowned basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Douglas made history during her Olympic career, becoming a two-time gold medalist at both the 2012 and 2016 Games. In 2012, she became the first American gymnast to win gold in both the team and individual all-around events at a single Olympic Games. Additionally, she was the first African American to claim the individual all-around title. Four years later, she was part of the iconic “Final Five” team that secured gold in Rio de Janeiro.

The official induction ceremony is set for Saturday, July 12. Each Hall of Fame class includes five Olympians, three Paralympians, two legends, one Olympic team, one Paralympic team, one Olympic or Paralympic coach, and one special contributor.

  • Coach: Mike Krzyzewski (Basketball)
  • Special Contributor: Phil Knight (Founder of Nike)
  • Teams: 2010 Four-man Bobsled Team, 2004 Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team
